Narrative

This triptych shows women and children promenading with a famous landmark of Edo, the Ryogoku bridge, in the background. One of the children carries a lantern that bears the name of a famous restaurant and brothel, Onoshi fuhachi, which is the only indication that these women might be courtesans.
