Austrian architect Otto Wagner’s first extensive use of aluminum was in the façade and furnishings of the news agency Die Zeit, 1902-04. The whole façade, aggressively untraditional and exceptionally bold in design, was faced in aluminum. The façade was destroyed, but this full-scale replica was built in 1984-85.
