Although his aluminum lamp designs, from 1927 to 1930, represented a brief interlude in Jacques Le Chevallier’s artistic career, his work stretched the limits of materials and the mechanics of lighting. Architectonic in form and inspired by Cubist principles, this circular, aluminum desk lamp is one of the most complex of his designs.
