The
Plymouth Prowler, "a salute to hot rodding," developed out of a
1993 partnership between Alcoa and Chrysler (now DaimlerChrysler) to
investigate new materials and manufacturing processes for automobiles. The
900 pounds of aluminum in each Prowler make it the most aluminum-intensive
American car. It has a fully boxed, all-aluminum frame that is rigid yet
lightweight—as one car critic put it, "this car is all about having
fun." |
