Although
René Lalique produced some fascinating prototype aluminum boxes and disks
for cosmetics, the only aluminum design to go into production was for a
powder box for Roger & Gallet in 1922. These boxes, of varied size,
are decorated with a pair of birds in flight with long, curling tail
feathers.
