In
1930, Russel Wright produced his first line of informal serving ware using
the spinning process. He later explained how "a few tubes and sheets
of aluminum was exciting for a designer who wanted to design everything
and only had a work bench and a spinning lathe." He capitalized on
the lifestyle transformations taking place in the 1930s with the shift to
easier and more informal entertaining. His lightweight punch set and
lemonade pitcher made "maidless and butlerless serving easy." |
