Jewelry has always been a part of aluminum’s history. The earliest items made with aluminum in the 1850s were elaborate brooches and bracelets. As the metal became readily available and less expensive by the early 20th century, aluminum lost status as a precious material, and it was used for everyday objects. Then in the 1960s, aluminum was popular again with jewelry makers because of its inherent qualities and is still a popular material with contemporary jewelry makers today. |
