Transportation has benefited enormously with the strength and light weight of aluminum. Between WWI and WWII, aluminum was widely used in cars, bicycles, airships, boats, and especially trains. The metal’s modern, sleek, clean look, particularly in streamlined form, was synonymous with speed. Not only confined to the exterior structures, aluminum was used extensively for interior fittings and ornamentation on trains as well.
