The aluminum can is one of the most successful container designs of the 20th century. Aluminum makes the can lightweight, easy to open, easy to print on, stackable, disposable, recyclable, sturdy, and cost effective. No other material has all of these advantages. In Third-World countries, aluminum cans are used as raw material to make everything from hats and bags to housing.
