Social structures and lifestyles changed rapidly between World War I and World War II, particularly for women. Their changing roles and expectations, and the demise of the servant class, all had a dramatic impact on everyday life. The post-war woman kept house herself, rather than managing others. Easy-to-use, labor-saving devices and less formal entertaining became the norm. Aluminum was ideally suited to this bright, new vision of domesticity. |
