Getting Here

Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History are located in Oakland, in the East End of the City of Pittsburgh (Allegheny County). We are within blocks of Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, Children’s Hospital, and Magee Women’s Hospital. We are about 15-30 minutes (depending on traffic) from downtown.

Click here for a map and directions. (The map and directions are the same for both the Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural History.)

Public Transportation

Because of its central location, the museums are easily reached by public transportation. Bus routes 61A, B, C and 67A, C, E, F, & J stop directly in front of the museum on Forbes Avenue, and routes 71 B, C & D stop one block north of the museum at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and South Craig Street.
