News Release January 3, 2007 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania…Carnegie Museum of Art has appointed Rachel Delphia as assistant curator of decorative arts. Delphia, who has a Masters Degree from the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture at the University of Delaware, and a Masters Degree in English from Carnegie Mellon University, has served as the museum’s decorative arts departmental assistant since December 2005. She organized Distinctive Desk Sets: Useful Ornament from Tiffany Studios, currently on view in the museum’s Treasure Room gallery, as well as Casting Call: Ceramics Center Stage, an exhibition on display at the museum in summer 2006. “Rachel Delphia is a talented art historian with an impressive understanding of exhibition design and installation,” says Jason T. Busch, curator of decorative arts at Carnegie Museum of Art. “The museum will benefit from her superb education and working experiences at Carnegie Mellon University, further solidifying the relationship with our institutional neighbor in Oakland.” Delphia is also an adjunct faculty member in the school of design at Carnegie Mellon University, where she is organizing Nakashima at Carnegie Mellon, an exhibition opening in the summer of 2007 at the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery.
