Join us for some fun-filled, creative gallery experiences designed for preschool children (ages 3–4) with an adult. Explore a new theme each time you visit, as you and your child look, talk, and create together with the guidance of teaching artists.

June 10: Pattern Play
Examine paintings and sculptures to find repeated colors and shapes.
June 17: Shape Up
Compare geometric and organic shapes in paintings, sculptures, and architecture.
June 24: Treasure Hunt
Follow clues and discover hidden treasures in the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Galleries of decorative arts.
July 1: Portrait Party
Find faces in paintings and sculptures. Learn to draw portraits in the museum’s galleries.
July 8: Rojo, Amarillo, Azul
Learn the Spanish and English names for colors you find in the galleries and experiment with color mixing and blending.
July 15: Little Architects
Find architectural elements in the museum’s Hall of Architecture. Design a fanciful facade to take home with you.
July 22: Map Quest
Practice reading a map with the help of your grown-up explorers and discover new places in the museum. Create a map of your own!
July 29: Art Vacation
Bring your favorite grown-up and take a “vacation” in the museum’s gallery.
August 5: Color Your World
Find all of the colors of the rainbow in paintings and sculptures.
August 12: Art Cat’s Book Club
Listen to Art Cat’s favorite stories. Make artwork that depicts characters, settings, and plots you find in paintings and sculptures.
