Art Olympics: Winter Games
Saturdays, February 1–22 
Become an art athlete just in time for the 2014 Winter Olympics! Test your endurance in this art pentathlon, as you draw, paint, print, sculpt, and collage. Team up in art relays and make your own Art Olympics medals. Get inspiration from art made by artists from around the world, on view in the 2013 Carnegie International. 


Painting My Masterpiece
Saturdays, March 1–22
Get a closer look at great paintings in the museum’s galleries and see ways that artists use color and texture in paint. Experiment with a variety of paints and techniques. Choose your favorite to create your own masterpiece, complete with a fanciful frame.

Portrait Party
Saturdays, May 3–24
Discover artists who create portraits in unexpected ways! Experiment with different media and techniques as you draw, paint, and sculpt self-portraits and other portraits of imaginary characters, family, and friends.

Draw What You See

There’s much more to drawing than pencil and paper. Practice drawing from observation and imagination. Capture what you see in rough sketches and more polished drawings inspired by works of art, the museum’s spaces, and the surrounding neighborhood.

Fun with Clay
Saturdays, May 3–24
Additional materials fee: $30
Get your hands in some wet clay as you experiment with wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. Create functional vessels and expressive sculptures inspired by the museum’s collection of decorative art and hand-made objects.
